The KPP Group has its origins in the once famous family business Horana Picture Palace (HPP) first established in 1966 in the town of Horana providing traditional bespoke picture framing services to the public. Over the years, the company grew to become a trading organization which was the leading importer of flat glass between 1994 and 1998 in Sri Lanka according to customs statistics.
In 2000, a member of a family commenced a new business under the name, Kohuwala Picture Palace(KPP) in the town of Kohuwala mainly to satisfy the increasing glass requirements of local customers. Following the footsteps of HPP, KPP soon became a leading importer and distributor of architectural building glass across all parts of Sri Lanka. The company gradually expanded its business into value added services such as glass edging, beveling, tempering and hole-drilling; and providing glass solutions to hierarchy buildings.
In 2008, owner of KPP incorporated KPP Nationwide Pvt Ltd, to develop secondary products such as glass accessories, door locks, hinges, handles and other hardware items.
The KPP Group was established in 2011 with the sole objective of developing the business into a diversified conglomerate under one corporate brand by bringing all the existing ventures under one group.
